Beeston Towers set an architectural precedent in Tarporley. Originally built in 1886 by John Naylor, it was designed alongside his brother Richard, who together are famous for the first recorded walk from John O’Groats to Lands End.
This original mock-Tudor style, which was popular in Cheshire at the time, also celebrated their family. They designed wooden carvings of one another for the houses, had custom designed and crafted gargoyles, and truly decadent mock-Tudor detailing around the whole property that is reflected in many of the county’s heritage buildings.
After his passing, Beeston Towers spent time as a school until becoming The Wild Boar Inn and finally falling into disrepair. It would have been easy to give up on this extraordinary building and clear the site for just another new build development. But that is not how Tabley Homes approaches property. And this is not just another site. Well-loved by locals due to its stunning architecture, Beeston Towers has continued to intrigue the community.
We are undertaking development at Beeston Park with sensitivity and research, raising buildings designed to follow in the footsteps of the Naylor brothers to affirm the past and present. The site has been sympathetically designed so that the conservation and new build properties have a unique dimension, complementing each other to become Beeston Park.
